Who We Are
Our Impact
No one should have to choose between getting the help they need and protecting the pet they love.
For many people facing addiction, the fear of losing a beloved pet becomes a heartbreaking barrier to seeking treatment. Too often, that fear keeps people from taking the first step toward recovery.
Pets in Recovery exists to remove that barrier.
Through a network of compassionate volunteer foster families, we provide temporary, loving care for pets while their owners focus on healing. We keep pets safe, preserve the human-animal bond, and give people the peace of mind to enter treatment knowing their best friend will be waiting when they come home.
Every pet we foster is more than an animal we care for—it's a family kept together, a recovery made possible, and a second chance for both a person and their faithful companion.
Join Ken Moses and the Pets in Recovery family as we lift the barrier of pet care and ensure that no one has to choose between recovery and the unconditional love of their pet. Together, we can keep families together—one foster home, one recovery journey, and one second chance at a time.

Support Us
The Coachella Valley’s recovery community is vibrant and supportive, but the lack of pet care services for those in crisis poses a significant barrier. Many individuals avoid treatment or recovery programs because they fear for their pets’ safety. Pets in Recovery removes this obstacle by providing temporary fosters, food, and supplies for pets while their owners get back on their feet. Since 2019, Pets in Recovery has grown to include a network of 55 dedicated volunteers who foster animals, donate supplies, and help fund the care of these pets. Despite this incredible growth, the organization is facing a critical shortage of resources.

Hi there I want to take a moment to thank pets in recovery, ken Moses the administrator for Pets in Recovery. Ken has done a outstanding job with my baby Daisy. Due to my situation right now, I am unable to take care of her. Ken and Roger are graciously fostering Daisy until I'm in a position to have her in my care. Lately Daisy has had some medical needs, Ken from Pets in Recovery seeked medical care and fundraised to cover the expenses for Daisy immediately without hesitation! I can't express enough the gratitude I have for Ken, without Pets in Recovery, Daisy could have passed away. Ken sends me text messages daily along with videos of Daisy. She is getting better each day with the excellent care and dedication that Pets in Recovery give her. She is loved and cared for. I recommend this service, I just can't stop saying thank you. Daisy and myself are Lucky to have found pets in recovery. Excited service. 😊🐶

I made the decision to go to rehab and I was very afraid. I was very concerned about my pet, especially my little dog Marley who is a Chihuahua mix. Felt like I couldn’t go to treatment unless I found care for him. I found out about Ken through a treatment facility. I called him and he found care for my dog almost right away. He found me the most wonderful foster parents that I could ever imagine. My dog was so happy while he was staying with his foster parent. I am so grateful to Ken for all he did for me while I was in rehab. My dog was safe and well cared for and that’s what I needed to know. I highly recommend Ken is the best person to ask about how to get care for your pet while you’re going into rehab. It was well worth the journey and I have almost 90 days now of clean time. Thank you, Ken!❤️
Tina
Pets in Recovery saved my life. I was unable to afford kenneling my beloved Tiny for the time I would need to be in treatment. Ken coached me through all the details of what I needed to do to get myself in treatment and promised to take care of my dog Tiny, while I was away. Tiny was in such a loving home and so well cared for while I was working on myself. I couldn’t have been happier with their expert care. When I was reunited with my Tiny, I could tell he was sorry to leave Ken, but he was so happy to see me, the sober me. Today, I have a great job and just celebrated 1 year sobriety. This is all thanks to Ken and his amazing organization.

I have no words for my gratitude for finding Pets in Recovery. I couldn’t believe there was a free foster service who would look after my two dogs Scout and Hunter while I was in treatment for 45 days. Both my little girls had major health and dental issues, Hunter not able to eat even the softest food or pick up toys with her mouth. Ken was able to raise over $4000 to get both my little girls teeth fixed. He literally saved their lives by reaching out to the Palm Springs community for donations. Both my little girls are in good health eating well and love to play with their toys now. The dedication and care that can provide provided for my pups during my time and treatment literally saved their lives. I just celebrated 60 days of sobriety and it is all due to the time I spent in treatment and the foster care my dogs received from Pets In Recovery. Ryan
